Marin County Arborists
Quality tree care you can count on

Marin County Arborists brings decades of hands-on experience and environmental stewardship to every project. Founded by Mill Valley native and ISA Certified Arborist Ken Bovero, our business was built from the ground up—with Ken climbing trees himself in the early years to master the craft.
Today, our team of highly trained professionals continues that tradition, offering expert tree care with deep respect for the natural environment. From small ornamental trims to complex tree removals and native habitat restoration, we deliver reliable, high-quality service with integrity and care. Whether you're a homeowner, business, or public agency, you can count on us to treat your trees like our own.
Meet Our Team

Ken Bovero
Ken has built a distinguished reputation in the tree care industry through decades of commitment, expertise, and leadership. Ken was the first to identify and flag Sudden Oak Death in the Bay Area, as described in an article by the prominent academic journal Science.

From a young tree-care entrepreneur to a highly respected industry figure, his journey underscores a passion for trees, professionalism, and service that continues to make a positive impact throughout Marin County.

Mauro Gasca
Over the span of three decades, Mauro has quietly shaped the landscape of Marin County—one precise prune and one expert consultation at a time. As a master of ornamental pruning, he brings artistry and science together: understanding how each branch contributes to a tree’s form, health, and longevity.

Mauro embodies the values of precision, professionalism, and client-first service that Marin County Arborists has become known for. Often turning to standard practices rooted in ISA guidelines, Mauro's work ensures every tree he tends is not just maintained, but thoughtfully sculpted to flourish.
Robert Bovero

Robert Bovero, ISA Certified Arborist #WE-14881A, TRAQ CertifiedCertified Arborist – Marin County Arborists

A third-generation Marin County native and Terra Linda High School graduate, Robert Bovero grew up deeply connected to the region’s landscapes and community. During his time at Terra Linda, he was a three-time MCAL Wrestling Champion and part of a North Coast Section Team Duel Champions—an experience that shaped his lifelong appreciation for discipline, focus, and perseverance. Today, that same commitment defines his work as an ISA Certified Arborist and TRAQ-qualified professional serving clients throughout Marin County and the greater Bay Area.
As the certified arborist at Marin County Arborists, Robert provides expert consultation on tree preservation, risk assessment, construction impact mitigation, and site planning that balances development with ecological sustainability. Rooted in a lifelong connection to Marin’s natural heritage, he integrates a native plant–centered approach in every project—prioritizing biodiversity, soil health, and the restoration of native habitats. His reports and tree protection plans are widely recognized for their scientific accuracy, clarity, and compliance with local ordinances.
Robert also contributes to wildlife and habitat research as a volunteer with Audubon Canyon Ranch, collecting and analyzing trail camera data to monitor bobcats and other native species. His prior volunteer work with WildCare and the California Native Plant Society included hawk reunites, wildlife recovery efforts, and invasive species removal to promote native ecosystem restoration across Marin County.
Whether evaluating a heritage coast live oak, designing a native replanting plan, or advising on hillside development, Robert’s work reflects a deep respect for Marin’s ecology, its wildlife corridors, and the natural landscapes that define his home.
